SPRING - 2023

Emboldened by how well my last market went I was able to produce these two the very next season! At this point I became interested in drafting a kind of "lore" for these creatures since a few market goers had seen my original post and were looking for my creatures by name. These two in particular I dubbed "bioyokai" as in biology meets yōkai, the Japanese catchall term for spirits and monsters. This is also when I started to implement little tag lines for each one. The taglines stuck but when I had people repeat the lore names back to me I got rather embarrassed and have since dropped the idea.

The inspiration behind these two come from Trevor Roberts' Mystery Flesh Pit National Park and the creations that may be made by grandmas in the area trying to recreate a stuffed version of a child's favourite park inhabitant.
